Wow, this is so perfect. I love how you have so much empathy for McCoy, and it's so easy (for someone like me who suffers from the same issues, anyway) to see what he's going through, but at the same time it's also easy to see how he's going to sound to her in the resulting conversation, and how that could put a major strain on the marriage.
