Yeah, I don't think all of these are realistic for every challenge - especially not for Yuletide, le sigh. OTOH, I really think people should at least think about it so that they *know* there is a problem, and I think the sample e-mail/comment people can send off if they can't finish would be a very very helpful idea where I don't see how it would be a problem for pretty much any challenge. It's hard to describe, but for me the act of writing an e-mail can be *incredibly* draining, which means that if I am asked to compose a one-line e-mail saying "I'm sorry, I can't do this" this can be an insurmountable hurdle, whereas if I just had to c&p an already-given e-mail it would be more doable.
