eruthros kindly made eleven banners that you can use to advertise this fest or decorate your journal/website. They have the dates of the Fest (July 15 through September 15) and various characters on them. They are hosted at my photobucket account, so yes can hotlink, or right-click-save-as and upload to your own space. I am including alt-tag descriptions for each banner. You can find out how to do alt tags for images at this post in hope's journal. You should be able to read the alt text by hovering your mouse over the image or by right-clicking and looking at "properties".
ETA: Clicking on the banners will take you to the Festibility announcement page. You can also copy the code from the text box under each banner to use elsewhere!
So looking forward to the start of the fest. I planned to write a lot of fic, but that may have to wait until this one epic monster fic for it gets finished first. :p
Speaking of accessibility and fandom (and prompted by one of the characters featured in these banners), did you know that the DVDs of Homicide have no subtitles or captions whatsoever? >_<;;
Seriously, someone needs to start a fansub project for that show. I've seen so many good reviews of it, I never watched it in the original airing, and I don't get the one channel (Centric) that does rerun it with captioning.
Anyone think I should expand this into a post of its own?
Hm, apparently from what I'm reading, the Region 2 releases do have subs. It's a shame if I'd have to import the discs from the UK just to be able to comprehend what everyone's saying! -_-;;
(Anyone with a R2 copy able to rip the subtitles?)
If you're interested, I have .srt subs for all seven seasons (including the Law & Order crossovers) and the movie. (Laurel Krahn's Homicide Video FAQ says the original DVD release of Homicide: The Movie has subtitles, while the version of the movie in the Complete Series Megaset does not.) I've never tried using them - when I was feeling especially fannish about season 3, I read a bunch of season 3 subtitle files by opening them up in Notepad and they looked okay, though there were a few mistranscriptions - but I've scanned them all with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, so I think they're fine at least in that respect. Let me know and I'll PM you.

I'm really looking forward to this, though I don't think I have anything to write.
