This blog cogently summarizes the damaging ableist assumptions in the latest J K Rowling movie. She sees the death of a disabled character treated without any true concern.

Wow, interesting and great post. I saw this movie and also found the death of the character upsetting and totally agree and it not taken seriously enough, which was strange for a film aimed at children. I did not read the character as disabled. Perhaps I missed something.

Very interesting. I have not yet seen this movie, and I'm hoping it is or will be available with audio descriptions just like all the Harry Potter movies. I'm a big HP fan, and am excited to read "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" as well. I may tweet this out for my job. Thanks for sharing.
