Well, the fest isn't limited to people who identify as LGBT, but just meant to focus on stories that are about more than "we're not gay, we just love each other" type of slash, etc.
I'm not involved in "the queer community" offline at all because there are few things less appealing than going to a bar or getting together with a group of strangers.
