Surely someone saw this coming? Especially given there's been pressure for a while? The irony is they'll probably spend more on PR to try and fix this (or refuse to fix it, depends how wrongheaded they are*), than it would have cost to do the audio description.
* of course it could be a case of not wanting to do anything on one show in case it opens the floodgates of people expecting every show to be accessible(oh, the horror).
