Does anyone know of any tablet-based apps or practices to help someone recovering from a stroke with communication issues? "They" probably want him to do a lot of handwriting, because he was an artist, but a tablet might be helpful for regular things.

Thanks in advance!

Most of the rec lists I know for ipad (is it ipad?) AAC tools are aimed at special needs and autistic kids, but I think lots of the same tools apply.

PDF list; AAC is the second section and has short blurbs.

List of 10.

Both lists mention voice4u, which is one of the few AAC apps I know that bills itself for stroke patients and not just autistic kids.

My dad has aphasia after a stroke; I'm not sure if that's the kind of communication issue you're thinking of. He has an iPod and uses Proloquo2go (http://www.assistiveware.com/product/proloquo2go).
