Liz Henry: Thank you Allies

The travel lanes and other things like good signs about what was where, meant that I could move around the space, and it was easier for me to participate, talk with other people. It benefited many other people, not just me. It made the space more usable for everyone. Though, I have to hold in my beliefs that improved access for ONE person is enough. To keep asking and going out, I have to belief that I am enough; I deserve it. This last 2 weeks, that belief solidified and expanded inside me. I don’t just deserve to ask and fight. I deserve to be welcome.

Possible trigger warning for the Captain Awkward piece- when I read it a few days after it was posted, the comments were great, but since then they seem to have picked up a few "But why can't you just be nice and educate?" individuals.

Seconded. Along with the Fat Nutritionist, CA is on my very very short list of places where it's actually worth reading the comments.

Further down one of those individuals goes for a wonderful bonus round of, "My comment saying that you shouldn't immediately get angry at people for what might have been a mistake didn't appear! I AM ANGRY!" and the site moderators went, "...It got caught in the spam trap and was released shortly after. It's been posted now."

It made ME laugh.
