We’re told it has something to do with budget, but I can’t help but hear it as, “Your voice does not matter enough for us to accommodate you.”

I agree. I can't help but think about all the buildings out there that are not accessible for wheelchair users, when reading this piece. Those buildings, inaccessible apps, and the list goes on. One of the reasons I chose Dreamwidth to host my new journal was the accessibility. There's just a good feeling all around when things are universally accessible.
